The MK7 GTI is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged direct-injection petrol engine (TSI) with 162 kW (220 PS). In the GTI Performance version, the engine’s maximum power is boosted to 169 kW (230 PS). The GTI Performance has a top speed of 250 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.

The GTI is a front-wheel-drive hatchback, while the WRX is an all-wheel-drive sedan. It’s easier to live with the GTI day to day because of its comfortable ride and better fuel economy.

Apart from being a two-door hatchback, the Polo GTI will also get visual upgrades like LED headlamps, a new honeycomb GTI grille and a different set of bumpers. The GTI will also get an integrated spoiler, 16-inch wheels and a dual tip exhaust setup.
