Fallout's Official Timeline Confirmed: How the Show Fits into the Games

Spoiler alert: This article contains spoilers for the new Fallout TV series on Prime Video, so we suggest you watch the show to avoid spoiling the intended experience.

The Fallout TV show shifts between two eras throughout the experience. The main era, after the nuclear war, takes place in 2296, 135 years after the game Fallout 1. This is the era where Vault 33 is introduced, and the rest of the events take place. This includes Lucy leaving the vault to search for her kidnapped father, Hank.

However, the flashback timeline takes place in 2077, at the height of tensions between the United States and rival countries. Throughout the flashback, we get a lot of details about the birth of Vault-Boy and his iconic Thumbs Up image, how Vault-Tec wants the world engulfed in war, and how they themselves want to drop nukes. It also follows Cooper's life before he transforms into a Ghoul, who has lived for the past 200 years.
