Epic has released stats for the Epic Games Store – and they show impressive growth. Monthly active users rose from 32 million in 2019 to 56 million in December 2020, Epic announced in a blog post. That’s a big jump, but the Epic Games Store still has some way to go before it catches up with market leader Steam.

Yes it is worth buying games on steam. Steam allows developers to get actual profits from their games. Original games bought from steam gives multiplayer option which we do not get in pirated games. All games bought from steam gets regular bug fixes and updates to make game better.

There are only a few areas where either storefront comes out on top, but overall it’s a fairly even playing field, excluding the massive game deficit of GOG….At a glance.

Worth it? Yes probably, if its cheaper and GOG games are DRM free. Also supporting another platform other than Steam may spur Valve into action to fix certain aspects of their system. You can download a GOG Galaxy client that makes everything as easy as the Steam client.

GOG games are all legally licensed. GOG licenses games two ways: as a standard retailer, just like Steam or Gamestop, and (with older games) by buying the rights to the game outright.
