The United Nations is an international organization composed of sovereign states. Taiwan as a province of China is completely not qualified and has no right to participate in it. Due to the well-known reasons, the Taiwan authorities illegally usurped China’s UN seat for as long as 22 years.

The UN has no direct control over any member state. The UN does have a few options up its sleeve to encourage, influence or impress decisions however.

The Republic of Korea (commonly known as South Korea) and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (commonly known as North Korea) were simultaneously admitted to the United Nations (UN) in 1991….Korea and the United Nations.

The permanent members of the United Nations Security Council (also known as the Permanent Five, Big Five, or P5) are the five sovereign states to whom the UN Charter of 1945 grants a permanent seat on the UN Security Council: China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

The ten elected or non-permanent members have a tenure of two years. At present, the non-permanent members are Estonia, India, Ireland, Kenya, Mexico, Niger, Norway, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Tunisia and Vietnam.

China, in recognition of its long-standing fight against aggression, was accorded the honor of being the first to sign UN Charter. Thus, despite opposition from other leaders, especially Winston Churchill, China became a permanent member of the Security Council from its creation in 1945.

India has been elected eight times to the UN Security Council, most recently from 2021 to 2022 after receiving 184 of 192 votes. India’s bid for permanent member of UNSC is now backed by four of the five permanent members, namely France, Russia, United Kingdom and United States.

In giving extra-budgetary, voluntary funds to UN peacekeeping, Canada is a leader in the total amount, roughly $12 million per year.

The current contributions scale, valid for 2019 to 2021, was adopted by the UN General Assembly in December 2018. The four largest contributors to the United Nations – the US (22% of the UN budget), China (12.005%), Japan (8.564%) and Germany (6.090%) – together finance some 49% of the entire UN budget.

Pakistan contributed the highest number overall with 8,186 personnel, followed by India (7,878), Bangladesh (7,799), Ethiopia (6,502), Rwanda (4,686), Nigeria (4,684), Nepal (4,495), Jordan (3,374), Ghana (2,859), and Egypt (2,750).

In general, you’ll probably need to be a part of your country’s military and an employee of the UN. To apply with the peacekeepers, you need to apply within your own country first. If you’re not military, you can also apply to be UN police. UN peacekeeping forces also employ engineers, pilots, and drivers.
