Growlithe—the first Pokémon introduced into the franchise that is purely inspired by a house dog—is another fire-type Pokémon boasting an orange coat with black stripes. There isn’t much else to say about this species, but it is easily one of the most popular Pokémon on this list.

Stoutland. Stoutland is a dog Pokémon introduced in the fifth generation of the franchise.

As many Pokémon are often based on different real-life animals, both Zacian and Zamazenta appear to be based on dogs and, as one Reddit user points out, both have adorable dog-like habits. Zacian and Zamazenta are two of the standouts of the new Pokémon and are the cover stars of Pokémon Sword & Shield.

Biology. Growlithe is a quadrupedal canine Pokémon. It has orange fur with black stripes along its back and legs. The fur on its muzzle, chest, belly, and tail is beige, as is an additional tuft of fur on top of its head.

Lucario is a bipedal dog/wolf/jackal-like Pokémon, with a few raccoon-like characteristics as well. Though it is similar in appearance to Riolu, Lucario has some notable differences, such as having redder eyes. Its fore-paws are black and it has large pointed spikes in place of the oval shaped bumps on Riolu.

Stoutland is based off of a ‘Shih tzu’ and a ‘Maltese’ which a couple characteristics from the ‘Yorkshire terrier’ and ‘Scottish terrier’. It’s fir is half navy blue and half grey.

Biology. Houndoom is a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon that is mainly colored black with a long orange snout and an orange underbelly. It has small, red eyes and a black nose.

Smeargle is a Normal-type Pokémon species which resembles a bipedal canine. Its tail ends in a brush-like tip which secretes a colorful fluid, giving it the nickname “Painter Pokémon”….

Yamper is an electric-type Pokémon and is known as the corgi Pokémon. Many people were ecstatic to find this “good boy” during the “Pokémon Sword and Shield” demo at E3 2019 and even more excited to share its adorable neon, heart-shaped butt, which you can see below.

Fire Type Pokémon are one of the eighteen different Types in Pokémon Go. Fire Pokémon are strong against Bug, Grass, Ice and Steel Types, but are weak against Ground, Rock and Water.

These Pokemon dogs include fun names like Lillipup, Poochyena, Fennekin, Growlithe, Snubbull, and several others. However, these names do not fit within the Pokemon Yellow theme unless one counts the Yellow Gameboy generation Pokemon in their Pokedex .
