Miguel de Cervantes, one of the most celebrated writers of the Renaissance, led a life of danger and intrigue. On more than one occasion Cervantes almost lost his life, but he lived to turn his often hair-raising escapades into literary achievements.

He is referred to as the “founding father” of Latin American literature. His most famous novel-Don Quixote-has been translated in more than 60 different languages and was the first novel to be published using the printing press. All of this leads to prove that Miguel de Cervantes is the Renaissance man.

The Cervantes surname in Mexico has its roots as far back as the early 16th Century. You have two important individuals with this surname. The first one is Leonel de Cervantes; he came with Hernan Cortés in the conquest of México in 1520.

Verrocchio’s workshop Leonardo became an apprentice by the age of 17 and remained in training for seven years. Other famous painters apprenticed in the workshop or associated with it include Ghirlandaio, Perugino, Botticelli, and Lorenzo di Credi.

Rules allowed students to bring male models into their cubicles to pose, but they could not use mannequins or female models. If their painting required female figures, they had to execute drawings and studies from life beforehand and bring those studies to use during the contest.

To use or not to use a projector or lightbox, and is it cheating. If you cant draw at all, the projector and lightbox aren’t going to make a big difference in your finished painting. If you want to learn to draw or strengthen your current abilities, tracing with a lightbox is a GREAT way to do this.

Many artists today also use tracing as part of the process of creating – more than you may realize. Clearly, these artists do not feel that it’s cheating to trace. often don’t mind what process the artist uses to arrive at a successful piece. If tracing is a part of that process, then so be it.
