A good guru is one who speaks the truth. But he doesn’t stop with that. He also motivates others to be truthful. He has control over his indriyas.

Guru is strictly speaking beyond form and thus gender… When applied to humans, Guru is usually male and Gurvi is female. Guru Maa is another way of addressing a lady who is your Guru… If you are a male disciple / student, a fellow male student is Guru Bhraata or Guru Bhai.

Another identity of a true enlightened saint is that he will accept charity (guru dakshina) only from his disciples not from any other person. This fact is also verified by the verse from Yajurveda Chapter 19 mantra 30.

if you look into the eye of a real guru then you will see nothing. no presence, only emptiness (shunyata). if you see any greed or desire then that person has not reached. secondly, since the real guru is empty (shunya) from within.

so always pay attention to your inner voice and ignore the voice of mind. your inner voice can catch the signal of your guru to come and take you to your guru. so as long as you don’t meet your guru then treat your inner voice of soul as the voice of guru.

Not only your Guru will help you in the spiritual journey but will also guide you in your household life — he will give you intuition powers to decide what is good and what is bad for your life, he will give you powers to decide what path to take which will benefit your soul and he will guide you which path to avoid.

A Spiritual Master Is The Embodiment Of Love Unlike most people who find it challenging to love unreservedly, enlightened folks love unconditionally. They have a deep appreciation for all people and nature and understand that love is the universal language. Understood by man and nature alike.
