Claudette Colvin (born Claudette Austin, September 5, 1939) is a pioneer of the 1950s civil rights movement and retired nurse aide. On March 2, 1955, she was arrested at the age of 15 in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her seat to a white woman on a crowded, segregated bus.

Thanking the bus driver does nothing, as @Crovaxon said, but it is used for some challenges (typically non-weekly/daily challenges).

To finish the Fortnite Deadpool Week 1 challenges, players will need to do one simple thing: Don’t thank the bus driver. So load up a game, hop onto the Battle Bus, and jump out without thanking the driver.

Thanking the bus driver on mobile (for either Android or iOS devices) meanwhile, requires players to touch the emote icon on the right side of the screen while they’re still in the battle bus. Playing 11 matches may seem excessive, but players can speed up the process if they want by dying as soon as they land.

This is because it is now one of the tasks to tackle in the Fortnite 14 Days of Summer challenges. The in-joke stems from a petition started in summer 2018, asking Epic to “add the ability to thank the bus driver before jumping out of the battle bus in Fortnite” (via gaminglyf).

To do this head to the Battle Pass section in the main menu. There you’ll find a Deadpool symbol above a vent – click on it to enter Deadpool’s hideout. Once you’re in there, click on the computer to view the current weekly challenges you need to complete to unlock the Deadpool skin.

1. You can press F on the keyboard to thank the bus driver (very important, you’ll lose the game 100%).
2. You can see the bus in the middle of the Starter Settlement before it gets used to teleport you.

Thank the bus driver Xbox One – Press ‘Down’ on the D-pad while inside the Battle Bus. Thank the bus driver Nintendo Switch – Press ‘Down’ on the D-pad while inside the Battle Bus. Thank the bus driver Mobile and Tablets – Press the ‘Emote’ button in the top right corner of the screen while inside the Battle Bus.

To thank the Bus Driver, you need to be in the Battle Bus before you exit it into a match and press the “Thank the Bus Driver” button. This button is whatever you have set to bring up the emote wheel.

Press the Down Arrow button to bring up the emote wheel and use the right movement stick to choose your desired emote. You’ll need to let go of the buttons when you’re hovering on the emote you want to cast, and your character will start emoting.
