The reason Seymour wanted to marry Yuna was the opportunity to sacrifice himself as the final aeon and become the next sin. Yuna hates him, and she’s branded a traitor. She even killed him.

After Seymour has been defeated in the Fiend Arena and the player wins the Farplane Cup, they are given the option to recruit Seymour. He can learn his Overdrive, Requiem (uses 60 MP), as an ability by being hit by a strong magic-based attack such as Ultima or by being ejected from battle by Auron.

Aeons entering the fight with full Overdrive gauges are a big help, as they can unleash their Overdrives before being banished by Seymour, and Bahamut’s Mega Flare can break the damage limit. It is possible to defeat Seymour only by inflicting Poison and using every aeon’s Overdrive.

The starting price for Yojimbo is then set to 250,000 Gil. When you make your offer, though, suggest 125,001 Gil as the price instead. This will lower the actual asking price to 225,000 Gil, at which point you should counter with a new offer of 125,002.

Strategy. Good strategies include Haste on party members and damage reduction measures, including Guard or Sentinel, and summoning an aeon to take the damage.

The easiest way to defeat Defender Z is to hit them with Provoke, as Blast Punch cannot KO. They should then easily be defeated. Unlike Defender X, the Black Magic Demi is effective and able to do 9,999 damage due to Defender Z’s high hit point total, ideally Doublecasted to deal nearly 20,000 damage each time.

Its claw, lightning, and Heave attacks are deadly. Watch out for the Meteor it casts when it dies. Cast Protect or defend with the (triangle) button to survive.

Nemesis Basic Information

Zanmato works on Dark Aeons (instant kill). There is no way you can be sure to get it. Save before a fight and keep reseting and giving him almost all your money.

You can beat Penance without BHPL. It involves using Cheer x5 (which can be done with Rikku’s mixes as well for immediate effect), Auto-Protect and Def. 20%. With max stats that’s enough to survive any hit he does and not deal with Judgment Day.

All enemies have a resistance referred to as their “Zanmato level” ranging from 1-6. The higher the number, the less likely Yojimbo is to use Zanmato even with higher compatibility. Nemesis and all of the other arena creations have a Zanmato level of 5, making it much less likely that he will use Zanmato against them.

2048 is exactly how much you should likely be paying him, and you should be summoning him to hit things like Dingos. Doing so a couple times will eventually get you to the point where 2048, or even 1024 is all you need for consistent Zanmato.

To have a guaranteed Zanmato (pretty much 99.99%), no matter the affection level, you need to provide him 536,870,912 gil.
