The word Islam means the entire submission and obedience to the will of Allah. Islam is a universal religion sent for all of humanity. This is made abundantly clear when Allah Almighty says “We have sent you as a mercy for mankind.” Islam is meant to make an ideal, dignified and peaceful world.

This literally means that there is only one god, and that one is wholesome, inclusive of the whole universe. It further goes on to state that all of creation, and all energy is part of this primordial being.

Wherever we are, Christianity actually embraces each one of us, because at the heart of it is the understanding that God is divine Love, and we are His offspring, as Christ Jesus taught. This universal truth of one God, good, and of man as His image and likeness, cannot be taken away.

Allah is usually thought to mean “the god” (al-ilah) in Arabic and is probably cognate with rather than derived from the Aramaic Alaha.

The Christian Bible is made up of the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament dates to centuries before the time of Christ. The Quran dates from the early 7th century, or decades thereafter. The Quran assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in the Jewish and Christian scriptures.

Hinduism is the world’s oldest religion, according to many scholars, with roots and customs dating back more than 4,000 years. Today, with about 900 million followers, Hinduism is the third-largest religion behind Christianity and Islam.

Sometimes called the official religion of ancient Persia, Zoroastrianism is one of the world’s oldest surviving religions, with teachings older than Buddhism, older than Judaism, and far older than Christianity or Islam. Zoroastrianism is thought to have arisen “in the late second millennium B.C.E.

At independence in 1947, Hindus composed 20.5 percent of the population of the areas that now form Pakistan. In the following decades, the percentage shrank rapidly, and by 1998 — the last government census to classify people by religion — Hindus were just 1.6 percent of Pakistan’s population.

There have been numerous cases of violence and discrimination against Hindus, along with Christians, Ahmadiyya and other minorities. There have also been cases of violence and ill-treatment of Hindus, due to strict Blasphemy laws.

Hinduism has approximately 1.2 billion adherents worldwide (15-16% of world’s population). Nepal (82%) and India (80.3%) are countries with Hindus being the majority of their respective populations, while Mauritius (an island nation in African continent) have (48.5%) population as followers of Hindu religion.

As of 2001, there were an estimated 1,500,000 Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia, most of them Muslims, but some Hindus. Like other non-Muslim religions, Hindus are not permitted to worship publicly in Saudi Arabia. There have also been some complaints of destruction of Hindu religious items by Saudi Arabian authorities.

Cambodia was first influenced by Hinduism during the beginning of the Kingdom of Funan. Hinduism was one of the Khmer Empire’s official religions. The main religion adhered to in Khmer kingdom was Hinduism, followed by Buddhism in popularity. Initially, the kingdom followed Hinduism as the main state religion.
