Troubleshoot Network Settings Issue: There are High chances of your Hotmail stopped working due to improper network connection. Contact your internet service provider to fix this issue. Incorrect Username And Password: Make sure that you are entering your correct login credentials.

Add an email account to Outlook for MAC

1. Select Outlook > Preferences > Account.
2. Click the plus (+) sign > New Account.
3. Type your email address > Continue.
4. Type your password > Add Account.
5. Select Done to start using Outlook 2016 for Mac or select Add Another Account to add a separate email account.

How to use the tool

1. Download and open the Outlook Search Repair tool.
2. Follow the instructions. The tool searches for duplicate installations of Outlook.
3. Select Reindex.
4. Exit the Outlook Search Repair tool when you receive the following message after the repair is completed:

Your email provider may reject your password for several reasons, including: You’re not using your current email password. If you updated the password on another device, make sure that you’re using the same password on your Mac. Your email provider needs you to update or reset your password for security reasons.

You can log into your Hotmail account using a web browser on any Mac or PC, but we’ll also show you how to set it up using Apple Mail on your Mac as well.

Microsoft has officially transferred all Hotmail accounts to its newer system: Outlook. There’s no need for Hotmail users to worry, though; their address will still be @hotmail and they can still send and receive messages from that account.

Set Up Mail on Your Mac for Hotmail

1. Select the Mail icon on your Mac’s Dock.
2. From the Mail menu, select Add Account.
3. Select Other Mail Account in the screen that opens, then choose Continue.
4. Enter your name, Hotmail email address, and password in the fields provided for them.

On the Tools menu, click Accounts. In the left pane of the Accounts, select the account. Verify that the account settings are correct. Tip: To verify that you are using the correct credentials, try to connect to your account from another Exchange application, such as Outlook on the web.

Tips for reconnecting to Outlook

1. Click Send/Receive. Notice that when Outlook is set to Work Offline, the button is highlighted.
2. Click Work Offline to return to working online. After you reconnect to the server, the Work Offline button has a plain background:

Make sure that you’re Outlook Profile or any of its parent’s folder aren’t in the privacy tab of Spotlight. If your Outlook Profile or any of its parent folder are displayed in the Spotlight privacy tab then Spotlight won’t be able to search. So, remove them from the privacy tab of Spotlight and try again.

Step 1: select a provider

1. Open the Mail app.
2. Click Mail in the menu bar at the top of your screen.
3. Click on Add account… in the menu that appears.
4. Select your Mail account provider from the list.
5. Is your provider not listed here? Select Other Mail account…. Do you use Hotmail or Outlook? Also select this option.

This issue generally occurs in Mac Outlook which interrupts the smooth working. Removing cache may help you to troubleshoot Outlook for Mac not sending or receiving emails. Resolution: Empty Outlook cache so that Outlook for Mac can download all data items from the Microsoft Exchange account once again.

Open the Mail app. Click Mail -> Accounts. Select your Hotmail account. Click the Remove button. Add your Hotmail account again by going to Mail -> Add Account -> Outlook. Type in your Hotmail account information to log in through the MacOS Mail app. You may need to remove the account in Internet Accounts System Preferences.

If Hotmail is not working in the Mail app for iPhone, then you may need to remove your Hotmail account from your iPhone and try again: Open Settings. Navigate to Passwords & Accounts. Find your Hotmail account. Tap Delete Account. Go Settings -> Mail -> Accounts -> Add account to add your Hotmail email back.
