Ever wondered why dogs sometimes start running around like crazy out of nowhere? It’s called the zoomies. They’re also known as frenetic random activity periods, or FRAPs. While zoomies are regular dog behavior, it may be a sign your pup needs to release its energy in other ways.

If it’s really bad, get a few treats and lure him in to his crate for a 5-minute time out. ~ Make sure your puppy isn’t ‘hangry’. As your puppy grows, and even if she isn’t in a growth spurt, she might be hungry and reacting out of frustration. Try feeding your puppy more for dinner, or a snack around 7pm.

How Long Do the Puppy Blues Last? This really depends on the person, but the blues should go away once you are able to gain some control over the situation. Generally the first two or three weeks are the hardest. This is when you are getting little sleep and you are still working on potty training.

Well, those days are gone when puppies hit their adolescent stage. Technically, dogs hit the equivalent of their teenage stage between 6-18 months. But, I find that the absolute worst phase for urban dogs is 5-10 months of age.

Do Dogs Know When you are Sad? Studies show that dogs are sensitive to emotional contagion which is responding to the emotions of another without understanding what they are feeling. Your dog knows you are experiencing poor feelings even if they aren’t sure how you feel, so they provide comfort.

When you kiss your dog, you may notice signs that indicate they know that the kiss is a gesture of affection. As puppies, this is not something that dogs would recognize, although they would feel you doing it. Of course, dogs don’t know what kisses actually are, but they learn to realize that they are good.
