Jamie Lee Curtis wins Emmy for guest role in 'The Bear'

Heading into the 2024 Emmys, The Bear racked up 23 nominations, setting the record for the most nominations by a comedy series in a single year. But fans haven't been too keen on the comedy label of the acclaimed show, for which Jamie Lee Curtis has now scored her first Emmy win.

After dominating the last Emmys with 6 wins, the show now has seven wins at the Creative Arts Emmys, which included wins for casting, picture editing, sound mixing and guest stars. But while fans are applauding Curtis' win for her brilliance in The Bear, where she portrayed the alcoholic mother of Carmy, Sugar and Mikey, fans are once again annoyed by the category.

Despite its dominance at the Emmys last year, fans were not happy about the show being labeled a comedy, as many expressed that it should have been competing with other big nights. The feeling is similar this year, as The Bear competes for the Outstanding Comedy title again. But at the Creative Arts Emmys, Jamie Lee Curtis secured her first Emmy win, taking home the award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
