My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi has been an exemplary work in the superhero genre. Now that Netflix has taken up the mantle of adapting this masterpiece into a brand new live-action film, I'm confident that My Hero Academia can revive the superhero genre in Hollywood, which is currently suffering despite the success of Deadpool & Wolverine ( review ). So here are my reasons why MHA can rekindle the love of superheroes among moviegoers.

Okay, first we have to talk about the superhero fatigue among the audience. There is a growing lack of interest among audiences when it comes to superhero movies and TV shows in the 2020s. This is mainly due to the abundance of films with similar plots, rehashed tropes and half-baked VFX and production issues. Thus, the superhero genre turned into a tiresome genre and has already reached its saturation point. It's currently becoming oversaturated in the name of the franchise, and Marvel is trying to rekindle that interest by bringing back RDJ as Doctor Doom.
To counter this fatigue, My Hero Academia has all the elements a studio needs to restore the freshness and interest of the superhero genre among moviegoers. By perfectly utilizing the potential of My Hero Academia, the staff can bring the best out of the manga for the live-action adaptation.
