Throughout the years, the feud between Batman and Joker has seen several variations brought to the screen by several notable actors. But with the new Joker brought to us by Joaquin Phoenix under the direction of Todd Phillips, there is no sign of the Caped Crusader. This may stay that way for a while but I don't think they will be able to avoid Batman for very long because a story revolving around the Joker is incomplete without Batman. So, will Batman be in Joker 2? Let's find out.

The Batman 2: Does the Joker need to be in?

The setting of the first Joker film was based in 1981 where we saw Arthur Fleck gradually lose his mind due to the way the world treated him. In one scene from this film, we see Arthur interacting with a young Bruce Wayne when he meets Thomas Wayne, who Arthur believes is his father.

The problem is that Bruce is too young which automatically removes the possibility of Batman appearing in Joker 2. At the end of Joker (2019) we see the riots where Bruce's parents are killed so there is a significant amount of time left for Bruce to be Batman. In other words, if they make Robert Pattinson's Batman appear in the movie, it would prove to be a big hole as his story takes place after a big time gap and made a dent in DC's reputation again.

While it's hard to get Batman in this movie, the updates we've gotten regarding the characters that will appear in Joker 2 make it even more necessary for Batman or at least Bruce Wayne to appear. First of all, in the comically accurate version of Joker, he meets Harley after a significant amount of time meeting with Batman, so bringing in Harley Quinn before Batman is already a bit of a stretch.
