BALTIMORE, MD — Fireworks are canceled this year in Baltimore for Independence Day. The cancellation of the 2021 Fourth of July show comes after the 2020 fireworks were also called off due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The City of Baltimore canceled its Fourth of July fireworks show, the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts announced Tuesday. She made her comments Tuesday during a Downtown Partnership of Baltimore webinar on the return of live audiences to popular entertainment events after the pandemic.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — A fireworks display will light up Baltimore’s Inner Harbor Sunday night for the city’s ‘Fall Back Safely’ End-of-Summer Extravaganza. The last time fireworks lit up the harbor was 18 months ago at New Year’s Eve celebrations in 2020.

Both will start at 9:30 p.m. — one on the downtown beach at North Division Street, and another at uptown at Northside Park, according to the city’s website. Organized by the Avalon Foundation, a fireworks show will go off starting at 9:30 p.m. and will last 23 minutes in the town of Easton in Talbot County.

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The Fourth of July is fast approaching and while almost all of the festivities were canceled last year due to COVID, there are a few updates about which counties are choosing to celebrate Independence Day this year.

Fireworks at the Columbia Lakefront will now include at least ten food trucks and live music. Meanwhile, nearby Baltimore City is choosing to skip fireworks this year. It’s an example of the ongoing public health challenges faced by each jurisdiction across Maryland.

Westminster: Head to the Carroll County Farm Museum to partake in this annual summer soiree. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. on July 4, followed by fireworks around 9:30 p.m.
