Android users have had the feature of scanning documents on the dedicated Google Drive app for quite some time now. However, this feature was later upgraded with the ability to automatically scan and capture documents. Now this super useful feature has also been integrated into the Files by Google Android app.
New document scanner was added to files by Google App in the latest update
Popular tech enthusiast and writer Mishaal Rahman first reported the availability of the feature for Pixel devices. However, I could see the feature on the OnePlus 11R I drive daily.
So, if you're curious about using this feature and want to replace your document scanner apps for good, here's how it works:
As soon as you capture a document, you'll see a new "Scanned" folder appear in the Files app. You can also crop and rotate the scanned document, apply filters or clean it up a bit. Also note that the scanned documents are automatically saved as PDF files.
