Waveplates in Wuthering Waves are similar to Resin in Genshin Impact. They are used to farming boss materials, character ascension materials, and character and weapon level-up materials. There is of course a limit to how many Waveplates you can have at once in Wuthering Waves, and the same goes for Resin in Genshin Impact. Wuthering Waves may have just announced a mechanic for Waveplates that beats Genshin Impact's system in terms of quantity and the Kuro developers call it Waveplate Crystals. Here's everything you need to know about it.

This secret gives you BETTER graphics in blowing waves

The Waveplate Crystals coming to Wuthering Waves 1.2 allow you to restore Waveplates if you've depleted some or all of them. Waveplate crystals regenerate as soon as your Waveplates are full. Players get 1 Waveplate Crystal every 12 minutes and can have a maximum of 480.

1 per 12 minutes is much slower considering the regeneration rate when the Waveplate cap has not yet been reached is 1 per 6 minutes, but it's any day better than losing excess Waveplates. The regeneration rate is already much faster than Genshin Impact's rate of 1 per 8 minutes.

This is a huge deal in a Gacha game considering how hard games like Genshin Impact make it to farm things like Artifacts and Boss materials. Wuthering Waves has a resin cap of 240 which was much higher than Genshin Impact before HoYoverse decided to raise the cap in Genshin Impact version 4.7.
