As you travel through the world of Xenoblade Chronicles, you will eventually come across sand dunes. However, to traverse this terrain, you must first unlock a specific skill.
How to climb dunes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Dunes can be one of the most annoying types of terrain in Xenoblade Chronicles 3. What makes it annoying is the fact that you have to unlock a specific crossing skill to climb them. If you try to climb up a sloping sand dune, you will just slide down to the bottom.
Nonetheless, you still need to unlock all traversal skills if you plan to access all parts of the game. And to climb dunes you need a specific traverse skill which I will talk about in this guide.
The traversal skill that you must unlock in order to climb dunes is the Scree Walking skill. To unlock it, you need to start the hero quest Going Beyond Power. You will be able to start this quest by going over to Alfeto Valley. Once there, you must temporarily have Teach in your party.
