Jerry Seinfeld thought there was another actor who could have done the most interesting role in his sitcom justice.

Michael Richard's portrayal of Kramer in Seinfeld created one of the most iconic characters in the American sitcom space, right up there with Chandler Bing, Marshall Eriksen and Captain Raymond Holt. Jerry Seinfeld wrote on the disc saying that no one could have played the character better, except maybe another actor.

Seinfeld, like the great American sitcoms of old, created a cast of memorable characters, and among them was the charismatic and sometimes shady Kramer, who benefited from Michael Richards' great performance, along with the wit and charm the actor brought to the character. It's almost impossible to imagine another actor playing Kramer, but Jerry Seinfeld revealed on The Howard Stern Show who could have done it if not Richards.

Andy Kaufman was one of Jerry Seinfeld's heroes when it came to entertainment and comedy. On The Howard Stern Show, the actor talked about how Kramer had a very definite take on the character and that it probably couldn't have been played by any other actor, besides Kaufman. He said:
