Spider-Man star Tobey Maguire opened up about the challenges of transitioning from superhero to jockey slim for the 2003 film Seabiscuit.

Tobey Maguire, famous for bringing the popular superhero Spider-Man to the screen in the beloved trilogy, also had to follow a strict regime to prepare for his role. The actor reportedly worked out four days a week and stuck to a protein-rich diet for his Spider-Man screen debut in Sam Raimi's 2002 film.
While the film performed well and established the actor as one of the most beloved figures in the superhero genre, his ripped physique caused problems for his role in the 2003 sports film Seabiscuit. Transforming from the big superhero look to the lean, jockey body required for the film showed proved to be a significant challenge for Maguire.
Tobey Maguire's hard work for Spider-Man paid off, as he had the physique of a superhero. But embodying the muscular superhero became a problem for his next film, where he was cast as Canadian horse jockey John 'Red' Pollard.
