One pain point, which many would agree with, is how WhatsApp compresses the images before sending them, reducing their quality significantly. But this is expected to change soon and we may finally be able to send and receive high quality photos on WhatsApp. Here are the details.

WABetaInfo's latest report highlights a new feature that has been discovered as part of WhatsApp for Android beta version 2.23.2.11. This update introduces an option for you to select the quality of the images sent so that the highest quality is achieved.

According to a shared screenshot, there will be a new settings option in the editing/drawing section when you send a photo or video. This new option allows you to send photos in original quality without compressing them. Check out the screenshot below.

Previously, WhatsApp introduced the ability to send images in Automatic, Best Quality and Data Saver modes, but these do not bring any major changes in image quality. Sharing photos in their original quality will help people a lot and there will be no need to share via email or any other platform.
