Q. Is Nin and national ID card the same?
It is important to note that the 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) is not the same thing as the National e-ID Card which is a physical token. The NIN can be used on its own for digital identity verification without the e-ID card.

Q. Is a picture of an ID valid?
Legally, you are required to have the original document. A picture is not “ID”. Most licenses these days are produced with various protections to prevent copying. A hotel might be willing to accept a picture, since they are only looking for a guaranty of their room charges.
Q. Do pubs accept photos of ID?
There is no law which says that they cannot accept a photocopy. If you carry a photocopy, it would have to be of good quality, with all the details on the ID page clearly visible. The photo would have to not be blurred, so that it is possible to identify the person in the photo as the same person who is at the bar.

The most commonly accepted forms of photo ID are those issued by government authorities, such as driver’s licenses, identity cards and passports, but special-purpose photo IDs may be also produced, such as internal security or access control cards.

- Tachograph Card.
- Local Authority/Taxi ID.
Q. Can I open a bank account without an ID?
Bank will require your ID or a certified copy of it and your social security umber, before it lets you use the account in any financial way, including depositing checks. If you did not need identification to open an account to deposit money, you don’t need it to withdraw it either so anyone could withdraw it.
