When going to pick out a new dog to adopt, many owners find their options at the shelter are filled with pit bull breeds. That’s because those dogs have a stigma associated with them since historically they’ve been bred for fighting or other aggressive activities.

The shelters can only really guess if they aren’t given the dog’s history. It seems like the younger they are the more ‘adoptable’ they are. So it’s possible that they kinda round down on age but my rescue was pretty upfront with me on my boy’s age.

Pit bulls are faster and more athletic then Rotties. They also were breed for dog fighting so they have the edge there. However Rottweilers are far bigger then pitbulls and have a stronger bite force. While pound for pound pitbulls are stronger the Rottweilers massive size would give it the edge in overall power.
