Q. What do you need to be a level 4 gymnast?
NO CHANGE IN THE LEVEL SYSTEM Level 3 gymnasts must be a minimum of 6 years of age to compete. *Level 4 gymnasts must be a minimum of 7 years of age to compete. Level 5 gymnasts must be a minimum of 7 years of age to compete. *First required entry level in the JO Program.

Q. What do Level 5 gymnasts learn?
The level 5 vault in girls gymnastics is a front handspring. After being called by the judges, the athlete salutes, then runs down a run way, hurdles and jumps onto a springboard, up to a handstand from which they “pop” their shoulders and land onto the mat on the other side.

Q. What do Level 7 gymnasts do?
To compete in level 7 gymnastics, a gymnast must be able to do the following skills on each of the four events….You can do one of the following vaults:

- 1/4-1/2 twist on (Tsuk entry), land on mat stack.
- Round-off entry (Yurhenko) onto table, land on mat stack.
