This will be Lawrence’s fourth and final movie in the X-Men universe and instead of going out with a bang or at least keeping the makeup consistent they decided to change it up. Partly due to the effect that the original makeup had on her skin and partly due to the amount of time it took to get her into makeup.

As for why Mystique is blue, it simply boils down to genetics. Little has been revealed about her past in the comics, so it’s unclear if her parents were humans or mutants. Either way, she was born blue and her shapeshifting abilities awakened when she was a pre-teen.

So Mystique dying in 1992, for example, doesn’t contradict the original films in which she was alive later on, because those movies didn’t happen in this timeline. The new sequence of events is: “First Class” -> the 1973 parts of “Days of Future Past” -> “Apocalypse” -> “Dark Phoenix.”

When Logan refers to Xavier as his father, he isn’t just doing it out of convenience; that is truly what the relationship between them has become. After that, he never found a true mentor again — until he met Charles Xavier that is. The professor did for Logan what no one else ever had before.

It is revealed later that she is not a clone but biological daughter of Wolverine. Like her father, Laura has a regenerative healing factor and enhanced senses, speed, and reflexes. She also has retractable adamantium-coated bone claws in her hands and feet.

Hugh Jackman has officially retired from playing Wolverine Hugh Jackman played the iconic character of Wolverine for 17 years in nine different films. Logan was his last, and (another spoiler alert) the character died at the end of that film.

In the comics, Laura is the female clone of Logan/Wolverine. In the film, she is Logan’s biological daughter. In one of the comics, Laura has taken up the mantle of “Wolverine”; after the death of Logan.
